Why Is It So Hard To Make Money With Clickbank?

The reason it is so hard to make money with Clickbank is because most people who are trying to make money with Clickbank are promoting the money making opportunities, and the majority of people that are looking for money making opportunities are people who have already signed up for a Clickbank account and all they have to do is swap your affiliate ID with theirs and they get the commission instead of you.

Even though your advertising efforts might have generated a few sales, you wouldn't know it if someone swapped your ID with theirs because you would not get the commission for the sales. And unfortunately it happens a lot.

Clickbank is trying to mask the affiliate IDs in the links to make it harder for someone to change the affiliate ID but it is still possible. I figured out how to do it a long time ago and all of the Clickbank products I've bought over the last few years I was easily able to get the commissions for.

Here is how the links used to look:

When the link looked like that all you had to do was put in your own Clickbank ID where it says "YOURID" and then click on the link, make the purchase and you would get the commissions. Today it's much harder because the links look like this:

http://0ca46ygkthck5mdw27mf5u1r24.hop.clickbank.net

That code is much harder to crack but I can do it every time as well as many other savvy Clickbank affiliates. However, to protect the thousands of Clickbank affiliates who are spending a lot of money to advertise their products I won't disclose how to do it here. But that is why it is so hard to make money as a Clickbank affiliate, because thousands of affiliates already know how to do it, and you really can't blame them.

I mean, if you wanted a product that cost $100, and you knew that you could get $75 of it back by simply putting in your own ID wouldn't you do it? Of course you would. No one in their right mind is going to pay $100 for something they can easily get perfectly legal for $25 and that is what happens all the time with Clickbank products.

If you are going promote Clickbank products, here's my advice...

1. Don't promote the money making opportunities unless they can guarantee that another affiliate can't get your commissions.

2. Promote products that every day people want, such as Arts and Entertainment, Cooking, Food & Wine, Health & Fitness, Home & Garden, Parenting & Families, Self Help etc... These types of products are less likely to be purchased by a Clickbank affiliate than the money making opportinities.
